Ben built this clock.

He made all the parts.  Gears, escapement, everything. This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

The clock by Ben. He hand made everything, the gears and all the moving parts.

Side view.

The full view so you can see the pendulum. I didn't realize that it had to be so long.

Very cool. You two are doing amazing things. I hope I am able to again some day when the kiddos don’t need me as much. I’m trying to figure out where to get your book. See ya on facebook.

Hi Pati! I know it’s really hard when the kids are so little, and you still have a baby! One of the lessons I learned is that when you have an art that is your passion, sometimes you can get by in 30 minute increments. Sure it’s not ideal, but you would be surprised at how much that 30 minutes can energize and empower you.

The Unexpected Miss Bennet will be available in bookstores and on Amazon in the US in December, but! You can get the British edition earlier in July at halebooks.com or bookdepository.co.uk. The latter site has free shipping worldwide.

I say buy both and compare. ; -) You will get more British spelling for your money with the UK version.

It’s hard for me to even get my mind around the idea of building a clock! I mean, building a CLOCK! You think of these things as just…being. Please tell Ben I am so impressed by, even awestruck at, his ingenuity, patience and skill!!
