Reading the best — The Kite Runner

Remember how I’ve always said, you should read the best so that you have something to aspire to?

I just started The Kite Runner. Yes, I’m coming late to the party, I know that. But I think I also knew that it would blow me away and make me feel very small and a writer of little talent, and who wants to put themselves through all that?

Well, The Kite Runner makes the feeling of lowly insignificance worth it. Seriously, the guy can write.

All writers are readers first, and The Kite Runner reminded me of that once again.
