I’m happy to announce that three of my short films are now available to watch on YouTube, if you’ve wondered where you can find a Patrice Sarath movie.

These include Shakespeare in the Diner: Macbeth, Do Over, and my first student film, Changeling.

It’s been a journey, and I’m so happy to be able to share these projects. I know some people have been waiting a long time, and I’m sorry for the delay, but these things take time!

Shakespeare in the Diner: Macbeth

In 2022 I came up with the idea to retell a Shakespeare play in a modern setting but with the original language. I chose the diner, because this is an iconic setting for American filmmaking. I’ve talked about making Macbeth before and if I can be remembered for any one film, it would be this one.

Did I make mistakes? Oh hell yeah. But the overwhelming creativity of cast and crew more than made up for it.

My Diner: Macbeth won three laurels at a handful of film festivals. And now it’s time for everyone to see it.

Do Over

Do Over is the little pony movie that could. It’s won Best Student Film and Best Short Film at equestrian focused film festivals, as well as Best Teen Actress at the Women’s Film Festival, and a handful of other awards.

I love this movie. It did everything I wanted it to be. I loved meeting Kelly and Ramona and Marcus, and getting to film the beautiful Strider was just a blast.

It’s been available online for a while, and I wanted to bring it into my very small YouTube channel so it could be seen with the rest of the movies.

You can watch Do Over here.

Changeling

Changeling was the first project I made at ACC. I wrote and produced, and my classmates directed, shot, and edited it.  I learned so much from this project, and when I look back at it, I’m actually amazed that we managed to do as well as we did. We really did pull off a great little movie and I’m so proud of this movie.

The three actresses did amazing work. Kristin Fern Johnson later played Lady Macbeth, Jessica Packard is tearing it up in feature films, and Tori Smith is going to go to a fantastic career.

What about Hell: A Rescue Mission?

Hell: A Rescue Mission is on pause for the moment. I’m taking a fresh look at the project and with the help of some paid consulting I’ve identified a few small changes that will take it to the next level. Then out it goes back on the festival circuit and hopefully it will get to screen in front of an audience. Stay tuned for more details in the new year.

Other People’s Projects

The director Romantra Spence has put up a couple of films that I wrote for 48Hr Film Competitions on his YouTube channel. Romantra has made some fun movies too, so be sure to check them out here.

Weddings Can Be Murder

I also wrote and produced a friend’s movie for her directing project, and we are very excited about this one. We will likely be able to see it screen in early December, so follow my social media to find out when and where.

What Next?

First of all, thank you so much for being here and cheering me on. What’s next are bigger projects and I hope more chances to work with people I’ve had so much fun making movies with. It truly is a team sport. I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted in the new year.
