I just re-read Nightingale a few days ago. It's so good. It never gets old.

I am not a writer so this is all new to me and sounds fascinating. I am a reader, though, and "Nightingale" and "Bullet in the Brain" are at the top of my list. Also, I immediately pulled out Robert Frost and loved the new insight.

I like him too. He does great, meaty, lucid descriptions of both setting and internal emotion.

The "I know all these words" thing is so true. It's like a piano student saying he should be able to play Carnegie because he can do scales.

You know, I think that Tobias Wolff may be the "mainstream author that speculative fiction fans like the best." You, Jeff Verona, me -- it's a movement! Bullet in the Brain is such a great story.
